Welcome to the WA Tree Festival
12 April - 11 May 2026
The WA Tree Festival is an annual statewide heartfelt celebration of the trees that enhance our suburbs, support our wildlife and enrich our daily lives.
Each autumn, local governments across Western Australia host a diverse program of community events designed to inspire, educate and connect people with our urban forests. From plant giveaways and creative workshops to expert talks, guided nature walks and family‑friendly activities, there’s something for everyone to enjoy and learn from.
Trees play a vital role in creating healthy, liveable communities. They clean the air, provide habitat for wildlife and help cool our cities and towns. Trees also store carbon, reduce erosion and support our physical and mental wellbeing, making them essential to both environmental health and quality of life. While many local governments are working hard to plant trees in streets and parks, significant tree canopy is still being lost each year, particularly in rapidly developing areas.
WA Tree Festival brings local councils, community groups and residents together to share the value of trees, encourage collective action and help grow a greener future for Western Australia.
